What's In This Report
The Cardiac Procedures Report released by the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council (PHC4) provides information about the performance and utilization of Pennsylvania acute care hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) for various cardiac procedures. The procedures include cardiac ablation, cardioversion, coronary artery bypass graft, defibrillator implantation, left atrial appendage closure, mitral valve procedure, pacemaker implantation, percutaneous coronary intervention, surgical aortic valve replacement, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, and tricuspid valve procedure. The Hospital Results section examines hospital ratings for in-hospital mortality, 7-day, 30-day, and 90-day readmission, and extended postoperative length of stay for select procedures while the Volume Results section displays the total number of cases for hospitals and ASCs for all procedures. Statewide trends and statistics are also examined.
