Pennsylvania hospitals, by law, submitted 1.9 million inpatient and 1.7 million ambulatory procedure discharge records to PHC4 in 2000 for inclusion in its databases. The data is edited by PHC4 staff to assure accuracy prior to becoming available to the public.
